Ogmore Valley Local History & Heritage Society

The Society was formed in 1999 to carry out research into the history of the Ogmore valley, to collect and collate documents, photographs and other historical evidence relating to the Ogmore Valley.

The Society intents to preserve products of these studies in the form of appropriate publications, photographs,  and various electronic media.

The published work will be aimed particularly at the school children of the valley.

For the purposes of the Society, the Ogmore Valleyis deemed to include the habitations of Blackmill, Glynogwr, Lewistown, Nantymoel, Ogmore Vale, Pant-Yr-Awel and Wyndham, together with their environs. These districts fall within the ancient parishes of Llandyfodwg and Llangeinor.

The Society meets on alternate Wednesday evenings at 7pm. in the Berwyn Centre, Nantymoel.

New members always welcome.

The Membership of the current committee is as follows :

The Society has a number of members researching local history and also acts as a focal point for enquiries from the general public, which are received from the genera; public and even from abroad.
